Childsmile

Childsmile is a NHS initiative aimed at improving children's dental health in Scotland. A program of Childsmile care, tailored to meet the needs of the individual child, will be provided by the dental team. This includes:

Oral health advice (e.g. on healthy weaning, diet, teething and toothbrushing instruction).
Dental check-ups and treatment, if required.
Twice-yearly fluoride varnish applications from two years old.
 
With Prevention and Education, it is hoped that a child can have good oral health which can carry on throughout their life.
